what about this DVD i still need to return? i never really wanted it, clicked it by accident, couldn't remove it, couldn't cancel it, got it and lost it, got charged, found it, and.....

What are the terms of cancellation?

When you cancel your Netflix Service account, be sure to keep the following in mind:
Cancellation is effective immediately.
There are no refunds or credits for partial months or unwatched movies.
You can sign up for Netflix Service again at any time, but you will not be eligible for another free trial.
Outstanding rentals must be mailed back to Netflix within seven days of cancellation. If this does not occur, we will automatically charge your payment method for the unreturned DVDs.
Once you cancel, we'll send you an email to confirm your cancellation.

looks like my next bill date is on the 4th, so you could cancel on 8/4... and all you have to do first is return that DVD, then do a hold, then cancel.
so now you have to figure out how to return that DVD
okay, so no biggie to send it back, just use the usual procedure.

still doing this or delaying another month? if you're not delaying, then:

so if you had returned the dvd, you could cancel netflix and have $8 for food. on the other hand, your worry is that you won't get credit for the dvd if you no longer have an account and so keeping the account means you might get the dvd return credit faster, so keep the account and return the dvd nownownow. no wait, do it when you go to the bank -- just swing by the post office.
